Getting started

How do I scan a product?

Open the app, tap the scanner icon at the bottom, and point your camera at any product's barcode. The result appears in under a second. No focus or shutter button needed.

Why does it say "Product not found"?

The app uses Open Food Facts, a community-maintained product database. Some items — especially store-brand or very recent products — may not be in it yet. You can contribute the missing product directly on world.openfoodfacts.org; it will then be available in the app within ~30 minutes.

Subscription

How do I subscribe to Premium?

Open the app, scan once or twice to use up your free scans, then tap "Start Premium" on the paywall. The Apple payment sheet appears — confirm with Face ID / Touch ID. You're billed €2.99/month and can cancel anytime.

How do I cancel?

Go to iOS Settings → tap your name at the top → Subscriptions → Gluten Not For Me → Cancel Subscription. You keep premium until the end of the current billing period.

History & data

I reinstalled the app and my history is empty.

Make sure you're signed into iCloud (Settings → your name) and that iCloud is enabled for Gluten Not For Me. Sign back in with the same Apple ID — your scans should appear within a few seconds. If iCloud was off when you originally scanned, those entries are gone.

How do I delete my history?

Open the History tab → tap the three-dot menu → Clear all. This wipes both the local copy and the iCloud mirror immediately.

How do I delete my account entirely?

We don't run a server, so there's no remote account to delete. To fully remove all your data: 1) tap Sign Out then Clear History inside the app, 2) delete the app from your device, 3) go to iOS Settings → your name → Sign In with Apple → Gluten Not For Me → Stop Using Apple ID.

Privacy

What data do you collect?

Almost nothing. We don't run a server. The app stores your scans locally and mirrors them to your iCloud. The only network call is to Open Food Facts to fetch ingredient data when you scan. Read the full privacy policy →

Do you sell my data?

No. There's no tracking SDK, no ad network, no analytics. We literally have no infrastructure to sell anything to.

Troubleshooting

The scanner won't open or shows a black screen.

iOS Settings → Gluten Not For Me → Camera → make sure it's enabled. Then force-quit the app and reopen.
